Kenya
We have arrived in Africa! Time to check out the famous sights and sounds of one of the biggest cities in Africa and the capital of Kenya. Many of these monuments celebrate the Kenyan independence in 1963, the brutality of the British colonists before that, and the rebels/freedom fighters, who fought the English to gain that independence… One of the buildings is shaped like a bullet for the bullets that the British shot the locals with.
Before we leave the safety and comfort of the capital, a little bit of urban Safari to get ready for.
Our first short walking safari in Kenya. The owner of this private island has turned it into a game reserve with all the trimmings, high admission price, park rangers trying to catch the perilous night time poachers, and even your occasional hyenas sneaking in across the lake at night to keep the population of the antelopes in check.
