Rwanda

We have arrived in Rwanda. Goodbye, Uganda, great animals, great people, great poverty, terrible roads. Time to visit Rwanda, learn more about the genocide, and how they are rebuilding the nation post-genocide. On arrival, you can immediately see how far they have gone... It is so safe and peaceful, good roads, and people dressing nicer. And something rare for Africa, the government really helps to reduce the poverty and improve life.

Enjoying the afternoon on the biggest lake in Rwanda, Lake Kivu. The other side is always dangerous, DRC (Congo ). This is the western most part of Rwanda, it used to be a German territory, supposedly the first Christian mass was in this area in the late 1800.

The oldest, biggest and best preserved mountain rainforest in Africa There’s monkeys, chimpanzees, and 340 kinds of birds, 29 of them only found in this forest. They plan to re-introduced elephants and buffalo since they were wiped out by poachers decades ago. Thanks to the Canadians there’s a canopy where we can walk 250 feet above the ground at the same height as the monkeys travel.
