George Custer and his seventh cavalry were stationed here from 1873 to 1876 when they marched from here to be defeated in the Battle of Little Big Horn. Only half of the soldiers returned here from those battles with the Indian tribes. They have rebuilt the house where Custer lived with his wife, the commissary the greenery, and the soldier's Barricks.
