For those of you that watched the movie, the King of Scotland, this is where the ruthless dictator Idi Amin tortured and killed his political opponents in the 1970s. It’s estimated 25,000 Ugandan’s died here in the small chamber. It’s actually on the grounds of the kings palace, conveniently located for tourist. Idi Amin had driven the king out of the country in 1966 in a bloody attack on the palace, and was using the palace as a Barricks for his soldiers he got the Israelis to build this for him, telling them it would be an armory, but he then converted it into a torture chamber. In the pictures, you can see hand and foot prints all the way up the wall, because the bodies were stacked so high sometimes.
